Christine Janes launched her second volume of children's verse illustrated by Liz Summers.

We were very excited to welcome P. D. James to Aldeburgh to launch her new novel, Death comes to Pemberley, a detective story set in the world of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. P. D. James spoketo a full house at the Jubilee Hall in Aldeburgh on Thursday 24th November 2011 at 6.30 pm. All profits from the event were donated to The Suffolk Foundation.
Saturday 26th November 5.30 pm at The Aldeburgh Bookshop - Reggie Oliver launches his new collection of mysterious tales: Mrs Midnight
Reggie introduced and read from his new collection of dark and thrilling tales.
Saturday 3rd December from 12 noon at The Aldeburgh Bookshop - Ronald Blythe read from and signed his new book, At The Yeoman's House

The Aldeburgh Bookshop has been in business for over 60 years. The owners, John and Mary James, took on the shop in 2000. In April 2005 we won the 'Nibby' (the Oscar of the Booktrade) for The Independent Bookshop of the Year Award at The British Book Awards. Recently in October 2010 we were included in the Independent's list of The 50 Best Bookshops, and we were placed 4th in the Independent's list of The 50 Best Bookshops in the UK in 2008.
We also run The Aldeburgh Literary Festival which takes place at the beginning of March. The dates for next year's Festival will be 9th - 11th March 2012.
